TetraBOOST is not a substitute, but is the only additive that makes real leaded fuel from the unleaded pump.
It has now come to be recognised as the de-facto standard for fuel additives and is specified by National Motor Museums in the UK, France and The Netherlands, acknowledged marque experts, restoration companies, engine builders and vintage and classic race teams. Indeed most of the most famous and irreplacable vintage and classic cars and bikes now run and race on TetraBOOST additive.
Suitable for all road and track applications, TetraBOOST provides all the benefits of BS4040 (or greater) leaded pump fuel, without the extra cost and inconvenience of finding the diminishing number of garages that still stock leaded pump fuel. Even in cars fitted with hardened valve seats, TetraBOOST improves performance and reduces valve stem and guide wear. It slows fuel-burn rate - giving improved combustion, improves throttle response and gives smoother pick-up and cooler running. When mixed with higher octane unleaded fuel, such as Shell V-Power, TetraBOOST can easily exceed BS4040 standards, with its unique ability to make 5 star 100 octane or much higher levels of fuel. Up to 106 octane fuel can be made if required.
Dosage
The standard dose ratio is 110:1
For 4-star, 97 octane leaded fuel, simply add 350ml of TetraBOOST E-Guard to every 40 litres of 95 octane unleaded petrol.
For 5-star, 101 octane leaded, add 350ml of TetraBOOST E-Guard to every 40 litres of 99 octane super unleaded petrol.
Higher octanes can be acheived with higher dosages, see www.tetraboost.com for additional information.
Advantages of TetraBOOST over other race fuel mixes
BHP typically 2-3%. Slightly cooler running. These tests showed that TetraBOOST gives meaningful improvements in torque and BHP over other race mixes and pre-prepared race fuels, including back to back tests with unleaded/AVGAS mixes. Customer dyno tests show improved torque figures typically 3-4%.
Drivers report increased smoothness of engines, and better and cleaner pickup in the gears - especially out of slow corners. Most customers show an improvement in lap times with TetraBOOST.
TetraBOOST can be mixed to conform to MSA regulations - (section P) BS4040 leaded fuel - giving a lead content from 50mg to 150mg per litre. Competitors running on methanol can use TetraBOOST as a valve lubricant.
