NEC Classic Motorshow 2016 report

Hamilton Classic and Motorsport once again enjoyed a hugely successful season finale at the annual NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham. Held over the weekend of 11th – 13th November the show’s organisers Clarion Events reported record breaking numbers through the doors with over 71,000 classic car fans in attendance to marvel at 2,500 cars on displays put on by 256 car clubs.

Manufacturers were also prominent with Porsche, Jaguar Land Rover and Vauxhall all putting on impressive heritage displays. Silverstone Auctions also broke records for the event with their biggest auction ever totalling £5.76 million. The total was helped along by a world record breaking £174,375 being paid for the TV restored Aston Martin DBS which featured in the series “For the Love of Cars”.

The event also hosted the annual Classic and Sportscar Club Awards in which many of our partner clubs were rightly recognised for their fantastic initiatives over the past 12 months.

The Hamilton Classic team showcased our full range of Moltex and Supertex car covers whch remain market leaders as high quality car covers for the classic car market. In addition we displayed a full working model of our Cair-o-Port to show attendees of the motor show as easy it is to add that extra level of protection for cherished vehicles in garages.

Our ever – popular range of minilite alloy wheels also attracted a lot of interest and our bespoke car mat and carpet range proved a massive hit, especially for those rare and specialist vehicle owners. It is also clear that our range of CTEK battery conditioners and chargers are invaluable accesories for historic vehicles during winter storage.

It was also an opportunuty for three lucky customers to win prizes with our prize draw. One winner will receive a full car care kit worth £20 and two runners up will be the lucky recipients of one of Miracle Absorber chamois cloths. The winners will be announced on these pages shortly. It might be you!

The date for next year’s show has been confirmed as 10th – 12th November 2017
